Shadow Shot Sunday #38

Hi everyone,
2 Shadow Shots this weekend!

The first is of my husband's current job. I really like the shadows on all the silver air con ducting and how you get to see "behind the scenes" before the gyprock goes up.

Also here is a picture of My husband and Son this morning giving our chookie Annie a pat - they are getting big arent they!

Less than a month until there will be 2 new babys joining us at EmBelISH how exciting/scary! LOL

Have a great week and take care everyone

Sewing on a Saturday :D

I woke up this morning in a very grumpy mood, even more grumpy than the day before (hmmm) so I had to decide quick smart how I was going to calm myself a bit and occupy Lucas !
Here's what I came up with:

Lucas played with his playdough

and I sewed a reversible doona cover for the baby's room, I am really happy with how it turned out, but can't take photos in the cot yet as the rest of the room isnt ready for the grand "unveiling"

Hope you are all having a good afternoon, I think a stiff drink and a full nights sleep un-interupted by toilet stops is what I need right now, Oh well, only another 4 weeks to go!

Tuesday Fun...

Well I am not sure if its this pregnancy that is making me a bit more relaxed or I am treasuring my last few 'solo' days with Sax before baby #2 arrives, but today I thought it would be fun for Sax and I to do some painting (normally I am too much of a clean freak and worry about how much mess it is going to make)

And as you can see by the pics he had a ball...
I have to say, all normality was restored this afternoon when I decided I better wash the floors (and clean the skirting boards with a toothbrush??? really I am not that bad, its got to be the baby)

Hope your all having a great week, take care

Shadow Shot Sunday #37

Well its been a dark gloomy week around here, so I have had to go to the archives for this one.

A few weeks ago I was trying to teach Sax all about shadows and showing him how to make funny little animals on the side of the house but his 2 year old attention span was short lived and I couldn't even get him to hold his hand near mine long enough to get the camera ready... O'h well I am sure the time will come, he's mastered using plastic scissors this week and is fascinated by cutting up the junk mail (and anything else laying around the house) :)

Hope next week brings some bluer skies, take care and don't forget to checkout all the other amazing shadow shots over at Hey Harriets

The Girls know how to roost!

We have been having pretty extreme weather over the past few days, and the poor chicken's run was in a river! and when Lucas and I went to save them their little feet were in water. We put them back in their original cage from when they were little fluffies just weeks ago in our garage, but wow have they grown!

Today the clouds have passed a little, although they are predicting more rain, we have moved the run to higher ground and placed in a plastic crate upside down for them to roost on, but guess what?! lo and behold I went to check how they were doing before and the girls have learnt how to get up on their "big girl" roost :D

They were all snuggled up and chipping away, I dont know why I was worried about them. Still a few weeks before we can definately confirm they are all girls tho! fingers crossed they are.

Hope you are all well

Shadow Shot Sunday #36

Hi there,
sorry for the late shadow shot.

This is Lucas on his new retro trike, it is so cute... yesterday he learnt how to peddle all on his own, my heart just melted :-)

Hope you all have a great week.

The countdown is on, just over a month for Bel & I before our new bubs arrive! Yay! (i think)

The Nesting Phase is setting in....

Well after feeling like we were living in a Chinese laundry all weekend, I think the nesting phase of my pregnancy is starting to set in :)

With Sax I had the nursery done and organised by the time I was about 6 months pregnant but with poor baby number 2 (especially after finding out it was another boy) I have been so relaxed about the whole thing that I had done NOTHING until about a week ago, then over the last weekend things got kicked into overdrive. The bassinet is made ready and waiting, just in case we have an early arrival (you never know Em).
I think I did about 10 loads of washing and now hanging in little man number 2's wardrobe are 80 outfits in size's 000 & 00 (can you believe it, this child needs absolutely nothing!!!) the toy box is stocked with baby toys, rattles and the like and I have even started getting my hospital bag semi organised. I have warned my mum to tell anyone that listens NOT to buy any clothes or toys as we just don't have any more room (surely how much can one baby use, I think it would be safe to say lucky if Sax had wore each outfit twice before he got too big) and don't get me started on the 40 odd pairs of newborn socks waiting in the drawer (not sure what I was thinking there, maybe that our washing machine was going to break down in the middle of summer, heaven forbid!)

Today was very exciting I took a quick trip into the city and visited Funky Fabrix and brought this great Car Beetle fabric to make a cot quilt out of. I just haven't been able to find anything I like in the shops. I am thinking of matching it with a nice blue cotton on the back and maybe some cushions out of denim with the car fabric as a detail as well??
I also got some other bits and pieces, some lovely Japanese girl fabric which I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with, but every time I see it I just love it.I also got a few fat quarters from the stitches and craft show a few weeks ago and my new button cover order has arrived so hopefully once bubs room is sorted and I finish Sax's curtains (that's a whole other story) I will have some time to make some cute little pony tail holders. On other news's Sax started daycare yesterday and I have to say I think he did better than me, we had the tears and he hung on like a koala but the biggest shock of all was he even had a day time sleep there (something we fight at home just about every day!!!) and then when I went to pick him up in the afternoon he didn't even want to come home and has been asking all day today when he can go back to 'school'. So cute ;) I have to say after two years of having him with me 24/7 it was SO great to be able to visit the shops and just worry about what I wanted to do.

I have also been meaning to share this pic of what the Easter Bunny brought Sax this year (we decided he would get enough crap from the rest of the family). It is a fantastic Jetta's Nest Robot T-shirt and he absolutely LOVES it!!! Thanks sam xxx

Ok, better go do a quick tidy before DH is home and the little man is awake

Take care, Bel x

Sunday Shadow Shot #35

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all those mum's out there, hope you got spoiled rotten by your loved ones and go to spend some time with those closest to you...

I know I have been ever so slack on the blogging front the last few weeks but hopefully that will change soon. Sax is starting Daycare one day a week tomorrow. I feel sick at the thought of it, but I know it is something he needs and it will really do him (& me) some good I think. I have just packed his bag and covered his scrap book (I felt like a real mum, how exciting) so he is all set to go (I will keep you all posted)

The move into the new house has gone well and I promise I will post some pics soon (I just downloaded about 120 from my camera, so as soon as I have the time I will do a proper post), promise ;)
This week my SSS shot is of Sax playing on his swing set (Brad's mum came to stay for 2 nights and Sax had her wrapped around his little finger, so now all he wants to do is be pushed on the swing) I have been trying to teach him how to swing his legs back and fourth to keep momentum but I think he likes being pushed much better (little bugger!)

Don't forget to go and check out the other amazing Shadow Shots at Hey Harriet's and also pop into the BrisStyle Blog to check out this months latest giveaways :)

Have a great week, Bel x
