My shadow shot sunday today is of the latest addition to our family "Lift" the budgie.

He is just the sweetest little yellow bird you ever saw and my son is so taken with him.

Yummy Fabric Parcel

Today I received a great parcel from the postie, I just had to take some photos and share them with everyone as I cant wait to make some new clips out of this fabric....

Hoping for some sleep tonight, I am not sure when or how but my small child somehow forgot how to sleep :-( these days he is up every 2 hours during the night... bumma
hopefully getting grommets (booked in for surgery next wednesday) might fix this problem.

Something on the To Do List...

It has been a long time coming, but I have gotten out Bel's Birthday Present from the UFO pile (very belated may I add)

I bought these gorgeous raw Matryoshka Dolls from Russia in advance to have one painted up especially for her birthday as she collects them, only to receive the dolls, begin her gift and then it got sidelined in our extension. Anyway this is a post to let you know Bel that your pressie is back on the drawing board, and you should HOPEFULLY have it before your next birthday ;-)

I will keep let you all know how it is progressing and post a pic of the finished product up here, they could also feature in our Etsy store in the not too distant future.

Summer is on its way

Ok, I just thought I would share something with you that I find quite amusing....
After arriving home this afternoon from spending a few quality hours with fellow BrisStylers, My Darling Husband asked me if I felt like going to the drive-in theatre tonight (yep they still exist, there is only 1 I know of in SE QLD tho check it out here). Well the movies on offer were (double feature) Star Wars - The Clone Wars and then The Dark Knight... which neither really tickle my fancy, so I decided to decline his offer. He was quiet for a while and then told me that if I wanted a night in by myself he would take our son with him to the drive-ins (he is only 20mths old). Anyhoo after me telling him that he was kidding himself that said son would sit still/not squak/be interested for that amount of time they left me to my own devices around an hour and a half ago, and a text message just came through to say that there is snoring coming from the backseat!! hmmph pie in my face, I CAN'T BELIEVE he got him to go to sleep, he wont even sleep in the car for me when we are moving when he is tired!! LOL
So now I am contimplating cutting out some fabric for a baby bag that I am making for a friend's shower, but not really sure if I am in the mood. Maybe I will get an early night in bed?

YAY! its Friday

Well I should be cleaning, cooking, sewing, etc but I just had to quickly share these cute little books that my husband surprised me with for our 9th Wedding Anniversary yesterday...

I am a little disappointed with the Plush you! one as it only has patterns for about 18 of the creations, but lots of designers info and websites and blogs to check out. I LOVE the Creepy Cute one and now just have to remember how to crochet (its been a long long time) and also find a bit of extra spare time ;)


Like Em said previously, the hairclip holders are on their way, so make sure you check out our ETSY store over the next couple of weeks. Here's a sneak peak at a couple I made last night...

Plus also coming to EmBelISH is a new range of rings and button jewellery I have been working on this week. After a really stressful couple of days I just had to get out my button collection and have a 'play', my other half thinks its funny but I really do find it relaxing sorting through the different colours and shapes to see exactly what I think looks good with what :)

Things on the Go....

Well at both homes we have projects on the go this week, I know that Bel is madly trying to find the spare time to make some great new Hairclip holders that will be in our Etsy Store soon so keep an eye out... and me on the other hand am still trying to finish my colony of Sock Monkeys (there are 6 creatures in the UFO stage).
As we are meeting our Fello BrisStylers on Saturday for our Monthly catch up (my first since joining the group) we really want to take along some of our latest crafty pursuits... so it is heads down bums up.
~~~ only problem is neither of our sons seem to like to leave us long enough to even thread the needle!! LOL
will keep you all updated with how we go
