At my house...

The calm is continuing at our place this week (or that's what I am hoping for). We had a really great weekend, I got the chance to catch up on some orders, we spent a lovely Saturday night with family and also celebrated our 11th Wedding Anniversary something which I am SO proud to say. In this day and age I just don't know that many people that have been married (or even together) for many years. With both Brad and I coming from parents who weren't together as we were growing up, our marriage is something we are both really proud of (not saying its always easy but I think those though times have also made for a better marriage too).

On Sunday my big boys headed off to the Motorbikes and had an awesome time and I even snuck in a little afternoon nap with the littlest one while the house was nice and quiet. Sax was SO excited he go to sit on a proper race bike (although he was a bit upset when he asked Brad if they could bring it home with them and the answer was no) I think maybe he needs to do a little bit more growing before we can even consider a motorbike.
Today we are hoping to go and catch up with some friends at the park for afternoon tea, so I am just hoping the rain clouds blow over by then. Just about to pop a batch of cupcakes in the oven and I might even try and whip up a batch of Passionfruit cookies too.

Also just wanted to share a pic I received this morning from one of my etsy customers. I always LOVE to see how people have used my toppers, and its always great to get some lovely feedback! Whatever you are up to this week, I hope you have a great one and get to snuggle those closest to you

Don't forget to go and check out some more 'At my house' posts over at the lovely Lou's

Anouk's Princess Party!

I recently made a Princess Belle cake for our very good friends little girl, Anouk who was turning 4! It was so much fun to make this cake and the look on the birthday girls face was all I needed to say thanks (actually I was also pretty excited to hear another little girl, also 4 ask her mum where was the cake? so I thought I had done my job well) I topped off the cake with some chocolate cupcakes with little daisy toppers in red and pink and finished with some shimmer powder which suited the party theme beautifully.

Anouk made a very cute 4 year old and was super cute in her beautiful Musketeer dress (with rip off cape) that her mum Kate lovingly made for her (it really was amazing, with the actual insignia from the movie and all!)

The party decorations looked lovely and the cute tissue pom poms hanging from the frangipanni tree added a beautiful touch to the look.

and the food looked amazing too. Fairy bread (of course) little gingerbread biscuits, sandwiches and chocolate and freckle covered strawberries (which the Nana's were a bit horrified over ;)

Even my little dinosaur and Spider man had a great day, along with Anouks super cute little brother Oscar!

Can't wait to see what Anouk wants for her 5th birthday

At my house...

Things are good at our place this week (we'll as good as it gets in our crazy chaotic house). I am trying to be a little more relaxed this week and not stress too much about this little things. Reading Lou's post yesterday really brought it all home for me and is one of the reasons why I LOVE reading her heartwarming, honest blog! its always nice to be reminded your not alone.

So yesterday we left the housework behind us and went shopping, caught up with some lovely friends, had some lunch, the boys had a play, got a few jobs on the 'to do' list done and all in all it was a great morning. I even treated myself to a pair of new shoes (I have a bit of a shoe fetish, its inherited really my mum is much worse than me but that's another story for another day)
While the little one slept yesterday afternoon I made up some yummy desserts using some of those Passionfruits we have at the moment. It was super easy and with only 6 ingredients with stuff I normally have in the pantry anyway it was sure to be a winner. We are also having fun this week having a different coloured bath each night. Thanks again Lou for another great idea!

I am off to work now, Bel x

At my house...

A bit late this week, but that's the kind of week were having. Its a cold wet rainy day here today, so lucky we have our new balloon ball to keep us entertained. I brought the boys this fantastic ball a few weeks ago at the red hill fair from the lovely Gretta of Balloon Balls and I have to say it was one of the best ideas and $15 I have spent in a long time. I will definitely be back for more for Christmas pressies this year!!! Not only is it 'house proof', it stops all those floating balloons that we normally have floating around going pop and if it gets dirty I can just pop it in the wash, perfect!
We're enjoying the harvest from our garden this week, and those passionfruits I blogged about all that time ago, are finally ripening and they are delicious! If anyone has any good passionfruit recipes send them through ;) A couple of batches of passionfruit butter are definitely on the menu.
And with all this cold rainy weather a batch of this super easy sultana and apricot slice is also on the menu with some nice hot cups of sweet tea. Yum!Hope your having a lovely week at your place wherever you may be, and don't forget to check out all the other participants over at Lou's
